We are proud to announce that the University of Cambridge Apprenticeship Awards successfully took place on 20th June 2023. These awards recognise and celebrate the growth of apprenticeships and their positive contribution to the University. Recording of the event coming soon.
This event:
- celebrated the success of those who have achieved their apprenticeships
- recognised apprentices who have made a real difference to their workplace and used an apprenticeship to boost their career
- also recognised the individuals who champion and promote apprenticeships in their school/department and across the University
Categories
- Apprentice of the Year – Intermediate and Advanced Level 2&3 (GCSE or A level)
- Apprentice of the Year – Higher Apprenticeship Level 4&5 (Foundation Degree)
- Apprentice of the Year – Degree Apprenticeship Level 6&7 (Bachelor's Master’s degree)
- Apprenticeship Champion of the Year
- Rising Star
This event, which was held virtually, was co-hosted by Colin Long and Leonie Isaacson from Personal and Professional Development and featured a welcome address from Pro Vice Chancellor for Strategy and Planning, Professor David Cardwell. David also announced the winners and runners up to the various awards. Videos of a selection of apprentices discussing their apprenticeship journeys were shown during the event.
David Cardwell commented: ‘It’s extremely pleasing to see so many individuals across the University thriving on our apprenticeship programmes. It’s abundantly clear from these awards that the standard is consistently exceptionally high and that the level of engagement is extremely impressive. I wish all apprentices within the University continued success, which I look forward to celebrating at similar events in the future’.
